DANVILLE, Va. – A man is being sought in Thursday night’s homicide in the 400 block of Bradley Road.

The Danville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 43-year-old Jerome Jermaine Davis Jr. of Danville.

Detectives have obtained a warrant charging Davis with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 40-year-old Steve Gunter, whose body was found lying in the street just before 8 PM Thursday. He had been shot in the head.

Davis was already wanted for felony attempted aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and brandishing a firearm from an unrelated incident. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Danville Police say the homicide investigation is still active and ongoing.
