PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – An 80-year-old Gretna woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Pittsylvania County.
Virginia State Police investigated the accident, which happened at about 5 p.m. Thursday on Blue Ridge Drive, just south of its intersection with Spring Road.
The trooper who investigated said Patricia Ann Bowman was traveling north on Blue Ridge Drive in a 2006 Dodge Caravan when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.
Bowman was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Police are continuing their investigation.
