EDEN, N.C. – Two decades after she left home and never returned, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is hoping someone will come forward with information about Michele Lyn Hundley Smith.

Her daughter, Amanda Smith, holds out hope that her mother may still be alive but admits that at this point she just wants closure.

On Dec. 9, 2001, Smith left her home in Eden, North Carolina to do some Christmas shopping in nearby Martinsville, Virginia. But she never returned and that’s the last anyone has seen of Smith or her vehicle, a 1995 forest green Pontiac van with the license plate that read: “Rok-n-on.”
