DANVILLE, Va. – 43-year-old Khaleel Latwain Rodgers of Ringgold has been charged with first-degree murder in a November shooting that left a Danville man dead on Rocklawn Ave.
He is charged in the shooting death of 50-year-old Clarence James Martin Jr. Rodgers was indicted by a grand jury this week and surrendered to police on Thursday. He had earlier been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said at the time that Rodgers was wounded in the altercation and showed up in the emergency room of Sovah Health Danville. He was taken by helicopter to another facility for additional treatment but has since recovered from his wounds.
Investigators have not given a motive in the shooting.
