Several housing projects in Pittsylvania County are awarded funding from the West Piedmont Planning District Commission . According to the Star-Tribune the funding is from a $40 million Virginia Housing grant that was awarded to planning districts across the commonwealth. The projects are the Southside Lofts in Blairs, construction of three single-family homes at the Habitat Village North in Danville and the rehabilitation of two single-family homes owned by the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
