A group of Averett University entrepreneurship students won first place at the Regional Investment in Startups & Entrepreneurs Collegiate Business Plan Competition. According to the Register & Bee the 8 students pitched a business plan for their campus communications application called Project Connect. The students won a partion of a $10,000 cash prize which will go to fund their app, They will test it at Averett before expanding distribution to small colleges then larger institutions.
