Governor Glenn Youngkin is calling on the General Assembly to reconsider his proposal to suspend the state’s gas tax for 3 months. The bill died in the Senate’s Finance and Appropriations Committee last month. Youngkin says with gas prices hitting new records and the summer driving season about to start it’s time to give residents a break. Lifting tthe 26-cent gas tax for 90 days would cost the state about $470 million.
