The Rockingham County Board of Education appoints John O. Stover III as the new district superintendent. According to Rockingham Today Stoven succeeds Rodney Shotwell, who is stepping down next month from the post he held for 16 years when his contract ends. Stover was chosen from a candidate search consisting of 17 people from 11 states and territories. He comes to Rockingham County from his role as instructional superintendent of the District of Columbia Public Schools.
