Gas prices are continuing to drop from the record highs set last month. According to Triple-A the average in Virginia for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $4.21, more than 60 cents lower than the record. One year ago the statewide average was just under $3 a gallon. The current average in Danville is $3.99 while in the rest of the county it’s $3.85. The national average is now $4.40 a gallon.
