The Pittsylvania-Danville Health district is advising those in the area of Mount Cross Road and Tyler Avenue to keep their cats inside for the next three weeks because a group of feral cats near Walmart were exposed to rabies. Animal control officers placed traps to catch the possibly infected felines and they want to make sure they’re not trapping a beloved pet. Captured cats will be quarantined at the Danville Area Humane Society for 10 days so contact them if your cat is missing.
