The Danville Fire Department has added new tools to their life saving arsenal.  In a press release from the department, people aren’t the only ones who need saving in a house fire, 40,000 pets perish in fires yearly with another 500,000 suffering some sort of injury with smoke inhalation being the root cause in those situations.  Thanks to the Project Breathe Program the Danville Fire Department is getting new pet oxygen rescue mask kits for each of their stations.  The project which is put together by the invisible fence company allows departments to aid pets in fire situations as many families see their pets as beloved members of the family.  This new round of masks replaces the current inventory that was given to the department nearly 10 years ago by the Project Breathe Program.  Each kit includes a small, medium, and large mask.  Firefighter Hillary Alderson handled the task of getting the new equipment.
