Detectives with the Danville Police Department are investigating a homicide in the 300 block of Halifax Street Tuesday afternoon.  Police officers responded to calls of shots fired just after 4pm.  Upon arrival they found one male individual suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim has been identified but their name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  Police have not released any information on a potential suspect.  Investigators are looking for anyone living near the Halifax Street area who many have information or video surveillance footage to reach out to the Danville Police Department or Crimestoppers to aid in the investigation.  At this point there is no evidence that links this incident to the shootings on Monday afternoon.
