The Henry County Sheriff’s office arrested a Martinsville man on Saturday after a standoff that lasted over three hours. When deputies responded to a domestic assault call at 115 Lake Tree Drive 58-year-old, Richard Perry Swisher brandished a machete at the deputies and made threats to kill them. After continuous attempts to get Swisher to exit the home a tactical unit from the Sheriff’s Office entered the residence and took Swisher into custody. He now faces charges of Domestic Assault and battery, brandishing a bladed weapon with the intent to intimidate, and obstruction of justice.
