The victim of a fatal house fire on October 14 in Martinsville has been identified. According to the Martinsville Bulletin, the victim of the fire was Rita Cox Sands, 79.

The fire happened at around 6:30 am at 405 Forest St. The fire started in a bedroom in the back of the house and was ruled an accident. Reportedly an electrical outlet in the bedroom was overloaded and failed.
