The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors voted against a luxury RV park on Riverside Dr. last night. Many residents of Vandola Church Road had expressed opposition to the 454 space RV project.
The developer of the project, Joe Cubas said that he listened to the previous concerns voiced by residents of the Westover District and addressed them all, including no access or visibility from Vandola Church Rd. Things got testy when the supervisors starting asking Cubas questions about the project. Supervisor Ronald Scarce asked Cubas how many LLC’s he owns, to which Cubas responded by accusing Scarce of slandering him on social media.
After hearing more objections from residents last night, Cubas asked if it would be acceptable to develop the park at an A1 property as opposed to a residential one. Cubas has also noted in the past that if the park was voted against that he could develop it for homes, since it’s zoned as a residential suburban subdivision.
