God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Response Team will leave early on Sunday morning, November 27th to return to Florida to help more victims of Hurricane Ian. Our volunteers and staff will work in the Port Charlotte area until December 10th, clearing trees and debris, and rebuilding a home belonging to a single mom with three children. We want to thank our wonderful partners with Joyce Meyers Ministries’ Hand of Hope for funding the rebuilding of this home.

The team spent several weeks in Florida after the storm, using heavy equipment and chainsaws to clear debris and trees from homes and yards, and muck and dry out homes. 169 volunteers took part in that deployment, helping 203 families. God’s Pit Crew also sent numerous tractor-trailers of supplies, including water, tarps, generators, and 10,000 Blessing Buckets. A Blessing Bucket is a five-gallon bucket filled with supplies including food, first aid, hygiene items, a Bible, and a handwritten note.

God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson says,“The destruction in Florida is catastrophic and heartbreaking. There are so many people there who lost everything. We are truly grateful to our wonderful volunteers, donors, and partners for making it possible for us to return to Florida to help them.”
