19-year-old Marte Wil-Shownn Oliver was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Gretna by members of the United States Marshal Service, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Department, and the Danville Police Department without incident.
Oliver was charged with robbery, use of a firearm during a felony, and possession of a firearm by a felon in relation to the incident that ended in the death of Patrick Lanigan Duffy at a residence in the 300 block of Halifax Rd on August 16, 2022. He has been a subject of prior press releases and eluded arrest until this afternoon.
The Danville Police Department thanked the United States Marshal Service and the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Department for assisting in apprehending Oliver, who will be transported to the Danville City Jail.
A 14-year-old Danville teen was arrested on August 18 for his connection in the incident and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
