Two Danville residents were arrested in Halifax after a police chase that ended in a crash on Thursday night. According to the Gazette-Virginian, Marcus Patterson and Shannon Long were accuse of shoplifting from the Tractor Supply Company store at the Halifax Square Shopping Center.
When officers attempted to stop Patterson and Long in their vehicle they took off at a high rate of speed in an attempt to get away. The pursuit continued until their vehicle ran into the old Pino’s Pizza building at 50 S. Main St. in Halifax.
Patterson then continued to run on foot and was eventually caught on Gold Course Rd. Patterson and Long have both been charged with larceny shoplifting, possession of schedule I-II controlled substances, and eluding police. Patterson was also hit with charges for reckless driving and driving under the influence.
