The Martinsville City Council last night voted 3-2 in favor of terminating the process of trying to revert to town status. Martinsville had previously been trying to revert from an independent city to a town in Henry County, they even took the fight to the Virginia Supreme Court in April of 2022.

Last night’s vote ends over three years of fighting since the council voted to initiate the reversion process in December 2019.
