Danville Police Chief Scott Booth has been named one of the four finalists for the same job with the Winston-Salem Police Department. According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Booth joins Jose “Manny” Gomez, William Penn Jr., and Wilson S. Weaver II as finalists.
The other three finalists are all assistant chiefs with the Winston-Salem Police Department. Booth and the other finalists will take part in a public forum on Jan. 25
Booth has experienced great success during his five years leading the department in Danville. On Tuesday night he addressed city council to discuss the 20% decrease in violent crime that the department saw in 2022.
