Danville City Council received some good news at last night’s meeting. Finance Director, Michael Adkins, delivered the latest figures for the city’s current financial status.
“I’m reporting that revenues through January 31 were $64.5 million, that is an increase of $3.4 million better than last year,” said Adkins.
Adkins also said that over half of the increase this year have come from retail sales and local meals and lodging taxes. Meals taxes are up $569,000 and lodging is up $315,000.
