Over the weekend Pittsylvania County unveiled its fourth LOVE sign at the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham. The illustrations on the LOVE sign represent the many facets of Pittsylvania County, such as its agricultural and tobacco heritage, wineries, educational institutions such as Chatham Hall and Hargrave Military Academy, along with the state bird and flower.
The sign is now one of over 300 LOVE signs across the state of Virginia. The county’s other LOVE signs are located in downtown Chatham, Gretna, and at Wayside Park in Hurt.
Those behind the effort included Amthor International Inc., Southside Concrete Supply, Todd Breaux State Farm, Tim Hilliard Marketing and Promotions, The Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex, Chatham First, Chatham Rotary, The Homeplace Vineyard, Pittsylvania County, Warren Shelton PLLC, Elite Fabrications and KG Graphics. Those on the working committee spearheading the project included Alisa Davis, Brenda Bowman, Lisa Shorter and Mary Smith, along with other volunteers from Chatham First and Chatham Rotary, ODAC and The Homeplace Vineyard.
