Progress is being made on three construction projects in Danville. At the future Riverfront Park large boulders are being placed along the riverbank and grading on the site has begun.

When the Riverfront Park is complete it will have a spray plaza, an all-inclusive playground, different ways to access the river, and more.

Construction is also underway on two splashpads in the city. The splashpads are located beside fire station 5 on Third Avenue and in Doyle Thomas Park.

  1. Glad to see my old hometown turnaround! Born there in 1954 .. raised my young life on Virginia Ave. Walked those railroad tracks many times, shortcut to some areas. Go Danville!! My grandfather worked in that white mill for 50 years and retired from there. My grandfather Hundley retired from Southern Railway after 55 years, working out if Tippits Crossings

  2. I think Coates Recreation would be a great site for a splash park. Lots of parking, picnic area, dog park and indoor gym_ basketball court. It has lots of room for a splash park for this side of town
