The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect that robbed a Food Lion at gunpoint on Wednesday night. The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at approximately 10:33 pm in reference to a black male subject wearing a mask that was seen running from 3307 U. S. Highway 29, Market Square Food Lion carrying a firearm and a cash register.
Food Lion employees confirmed they had been robbed at gunpoint. Approximately $1,300 cash was stolen, deputies responded to the scene and were unable to locate the unknown suspect.
The suspect was described as a black male, wearing black pants, a grey hoodie, and a face mask. A possible suspect vehicle was observed exiting the parking lot and was described as a silver Chevrolet Impala.
