Two people were shot in Fieldale on Monday afternoon. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at a residence on John Baker Road just after 4 pm.

Deputies responded to Roberts Best Way Store at the 102 Marker of Dillons Fork Road and found a victim in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, 33-year-old Joshua Terrance Canty, told authorities he had been shot after an altercation on John Barker Road.

When deputies arrived at the residence they found another victim, 38-year-old George Robert Stephens, with multiple gunshot wounds. Sheriff Wayne Davis told BTW 21 that they believe they have everyone involved in custody.

Both victims were airlifted to a nearby hospital. Stephens is in critical condition, but is stable, while Canty received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Both men have refused to cooperate with authorities so far. The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at  276-638-8751.
