A 25-year-old South Boston man was shot and killed at an apartment complex on Sunday morning. The South Boston Police Department responded at 3:40 am to Willow Oaks Apartments for a report of shots fired.

25-year-old Quaheim Chandler arrived at Sentara Halifax Hospital with a gunshot wound while officers were investigating. Chandler was later pronounced dead.

Authorities believe that Chandler was shot during an altercation. The South Boston Police Department is investigating the shooting. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the department at 434-222-0664.
