On Friday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced several additional board appointments and a local woman was among the appointments. Youngkin has appointed Linda Green, the Economic Development Executive Director for the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance and Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, to the Commonwealth Transportation Board.

Green was recently named one of the top leaders in the state by Virginia Business magazine. Her efforts have led to 28 new companies coming to Southern Virginia since 2016. She has also assisted with the expansion of 31 existing companies.

Those efforts have created more than 5,300 jobs in the region and also landed about $1.5 billion in capital investments.
