Charges from a shooting in Eden have been upgraded to first degree murder. On Sunday 33-year-old Derek Hairston of Eden succumbed to his injuries and died due to this incident. After a consultation with the District Attorney’s office, the charges against William Cordero Lindsey were upgraded to first-degree murder.
Lindsey is wanted for first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Kwes Keen is still wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The shooting took place on August 2 at the J-Mart located at 904 Virginia Ave. Surveillance cameras in the area captured the incident and investigators were able to identify the parties involved.
Lindsey and Keen were identified as the two engaged in the physical altercation and exchange of gun fire. The two gunshot victims were identified as Derek Hairston and Sierra Carter.
