The Eden Police Department has arrested a woman and apprehended four juveniles connected to several vehicle break-ins on August 22. The break-ins occurred in the Leakesville and Spray areas of the city.

An investigation led to the criminal apprehension of 4 juvenile suspects. During this investigation, Eden Police Detectives solved 18 vehicle burglaries and recovered property, including financial cards, identity documents, and firearms.

As the investigation progressed, detectives learned that 55-year-old Catherine Ann Brown had disposed of evidence directly related to the investigation and was subsequently arrested. The information developed by the Eden Police Detectives in this investigation was relayed to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, which led to the closure of many similar cases reported to their agency.

Brown was arrested and charged with one felony count of obstruction of justice. She was taken before a Rockingham County Magistrate and issued a $5,000 secured bond. Brown is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on September 25, 2023.
