The average price of gas in Virginia is down by a nickel from last week to $3.62 a gallon. The national average is also down by five cents to $3.81. Prices are also down across the southside this week.

In Danville the average price dropped four cents to $3.42 a gallon, while in Pittsylvania County the average price is down six cents to $3.43. The average price in Henry County is down by three cents to $3.51 and in Martinsville the average price dropped four cents to $3.49.

Prices in Halifax County are down by three cents to $3.53 a gallon.
