A 57-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle crash in Halifax County on Wednesday. According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred on Rt. 603 just one mile north of Rt. 642.

A Dodge Dakota driven by Jerry Womack, of Nathalie, struck a utility pole after running off the right side of the road on Rt. 603. The truck then went back across the road and ran off the left side hitting several trees.

Womack was pronounced dead at the scene.
