A Texas man has been arrested in North Carolina after abducting a 16-year-old girl in Martinsville on Monday. Martinsville Police began investigating after receiving a report that a 16-year-old girl had run away from home.

Authorities learned that the girl had been in contact with a man from Houston, Texas that was identified as 31-year-0ld Cody Lee Lopez. According to authorities, Lopez then traveled to Martinsville to pick up the 16-year-old girl.

Lopez and the girl were located in Charlotte on Tuesday morning and were taken into custody by United States Marshals. Lopez will be extradited back to Virginia and will face charges of abduction and computer solicitation of a minor.
