The initial reason for the cancellation of the Blue Ridge Rock Festival may not have been the real reason. According to a report from WDBJ 7, nearly 200 stagehand workers threatened to strike over the working conditions at the festival.
The station reported that they have received hundreds of e-mails and social media messages about the cancellation. Many of the workers walked out of the festival on Saturday after they had presented a list of demands on Friday that hadn’t been met.
The issues reportedly began two weeks before the festival when worker arrived to find non-functional showers and just six porta-potties for the nearly 200 w0rkers to share.
The Blue Ridge Rock Festival ultimately canceled the event over concerns with the weather and said that an update would come this week on refunds for attendees.
