Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators have charged and arrested Adam Shane Stacey, 50, of 161 Reginald Rd. Mayodan, NC, in connection to several vehicle break-ins and the theft of a newer-model Polaris Ranger 1000 model side-by-side ATV.

The vehicle break-ins and ATV theft occurred around the 3000 block of NC 704 in Madison and were reported to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office on September 24, 2023.

A Crime Stoppers Hotline tip helped to lead investigators to the location of the stolen ATV where it was recovered by investigators and returned to the owner. As a reminder, Crime Stoppers pays up to $5,000 for tips on crimes that lead to an arrest, and tipsters who call the Hotline remain anonymous.

Stacey was arrested on three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count of felony larceny. He was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $50,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23rd.
