The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide. According to Sheriff Wayne Davis, deputies were called to an apartment at 84 Summit View Drive on Monday at around 7:30 am for a welfare check after a man didn’t show up for work.
When deputies made entry into the apartment they discovered a man deceased. The deceased male was identified as Michael Jerome Hairston, 46 years of age. He resided at this apartment.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Hairston arrived home on October 21 at approximately 5:12 pm. At approximately 7:08 pm, two individuals arrived at the residence and appeared to go inside the apartment at 84 Summit View Drive.
Several minutes later, both individuals are seen running from the apartment. These individuals appear to be male and female. This was recorded on a neighbor’s doorbell camera.
On the night this incident occurred, the doorbell camera owner called at 7:20 pm and reported that two juvenile subjects were outside messing with her apartment and possibly tried to damage her door. Two deputies responded to the apartment complex and spoke to the neighbor through her doorbell camera.
