We are very excited to recognize a couple as our Citizens of the month…you can’t do one without recognizing the other. Letter of nomination submitted by Melinda Dalton for Jim and Marjorie Hamilton.

They both exemplify the true spirit of community service in spite of their ages…Jim is 90 and Marjorie 89! Jim is an active member of the Danville Kiwanis Club, where he goes consistently above and beyond in his contributions to the betterment of our community. Additionally, Jim is a valued member of the Salvation Army, where his insights and dedication have played a vital role in the organization’s success.

Jim’s commitment to community service is matched only by his incredible partner, Marjorie. Together, they form a dynamic duo dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those around them.

One of Jim’s and Marjorie’s most notable achievements is their receipt of the prestigious “Hero Award” from God’s Pit Crew, a testament to their unwavering commitment to helping others. Over the course of one year with God’s Pit Crew, Jim volunteered an extraordinary 962 hours and Marjorie 750 hours, showcasing their selflessness and outstanding generosity.

They both are very dedicated to their faith and church…Trinity United Methodist, where Jim serves as a trustee.

Jim and Marjorie are more than deserving of this high honor. Both embody the spirit of this accolade through their genuine care for others and their commitment to making a positive impact.

We absolutely agree with Melinda Dalton, and thus we’re making an exception in recognizing two folks as our Citizens of the Month…a lovely couple, Jim and Marjorie Hamilton, who give of themselves to make our community a better place in which to live…and certainly age has not been a deterrent for them. Congratulations!!
