Eric Phillips was named the Republican nominee for the House District 48 seat during a mass meeting last night at the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex. Phillips is a Henry County businessman who beat former Mayor of Chatham, Will Pace during the vote last night.

A special election will be held on January 9 to determine  the district 48 representative. The special election is being held because Delegate Les Adams resigned earlier this week despite winning re-election in November.
