The South Boston Police Chief has been fired after an investigation into a personnel matter. Police Chief Bryan Young has been on paid administrative leave since December 4 for an investigation into a complaint.

Details about the investigation have not been released at this time. Young had been the Police Chief since 2020 and had over 20 years of law enforcement experience.

An interim Chief of Police is expected to be named soon.
