Ronnie Edmonds has been named the Interim Chief of Police in South Boston. Former Police Chief Bryan Young was fired on Friday after an investigation into a personnel matter.
Edmonds has served on the South Boston Police Department for over 30 years after joining in 1990. He has served in various roles such as Lieutenant and as lead of the tactical unit.
Edmonds retired briefly in 2020, before returning as a part-time patrol officer.
