A man wanted by US Marshalls for an armed bank robbery in Florida was arrested in Martinsville following a police chase that ended in a crash on Wednesday afternoon. The Martinsville Police Department also had warrants for 34-year-old Joseph Ott that included use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.
Surveillance had been put in place on Ott and officers attempted to stop him after leaving the residence he was at.
The chase concluded with a crash on Circle Court. The suspect sustained minor injuries from the crash and the driver of the second vehicle also sustained injuries.
Ott was caught on foot a short time after the crash. The chase involved Martinsville Police Officers, Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies, and State Police.
Multiple firearms and narcotics were also recovered during the investigation.
