Average gas prices across Virginia jumped by eight cents this week to $3.11 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by seven cents to $3.19 a gallon.

Prices across the southside have also continued to rise. The average price of gas in Danville is up by four cents to $2.96, while the average price in Pittsylvania County climbed six cents again to $3.04 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price jumped by a nickel to $3.00 and in Henry County the average price climbed 11 cents to $3.05. Prices in Halifax County jumped the most in the southside this week as prices are up 23 cents to $3.19 a gallon.
