Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality.  The crash occurred Saturday, (Mar 16) at 7:01 pm on Mount Carmel Road, one tenth of a mile south of Gumtree Lane in Franklin County.

A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling north on Mount Carmel Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, crossing the roadway and struck the trees.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Devin Wayne Coleman, 21, of Bassett. Coleman was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
