The Danville Police Department has arrested Caleb Lane Durham, 27, following a fatal traffic crash that occurred in late December 2023. Durham, of Blanch, N.C., has been charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

At 7:09 pm Wednesday, Dec. 20, officers responded to the 1900 block of Goodyear Boulevard and found a vehicle driven by Caleb Lane Durham, 26, struck a vehicle driven by Michael Anthony Carter, 52, which caused Carter’s vehicle to leave the highway.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. Both were transported from the scene. Carter later died as a result of his injuries.
