A man has been arrested following a shooting death that occurred early Saturday morning in Pittsylvania County. At approximately 3 am the Pittsylvania County 911 Center received a call regarding a subject that had been shot in the 500 block of Tucker Rd. in the Gretna community.
Upon arrival Deputies found 38-year-old Latisha Johnson of 2133 Shula Dr. Lot 8 in Hurt, unresponsive with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
41-year-old Charles Jermaine Pannell Jr has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault and Battery Family Member
- Shooting From a Vehicle
- Use or Display of a Firearm in Committing of a Felony.
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm.
- Causing or Encouraging Acts Rendering Children Delinquent, Abused etc.
Pannell is being held under No Bond.
