A Collinsville man has been arrested after authorities say that he impersonated a U.S. Marshal. On Wednesday night, Martinsville Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Corn Tassel Trail.

Officers approached the vehicle and noticed the man driving the vehicle was wearing body armor and had other items in his possession that appeared to be law enforcement equipment. The driver, 36-year-old Dominique Cornelius Grant, then claimed to be a U.S. Marshal and said he was doing surveillance.

Grant was taken into custody and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and a second or subsequent offense. He is being held in the Martinsville City Jail under no bond.
