Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Pittsylvania County, that resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Sunday, at 10:46 am on West Sunrise Drive, at its intersection with Cross Stitch Road in Pittsylvania County.
A 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on Cross Stitch Road failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto West Sunrise Drive and was struck by a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Tommy Richard Terry, 64, of Dry Fork.
Terry was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. A 21-year-old passenger was not wearing her seatbelt and was transported for injuries received in the crash.
The 51-year-old driver of the Dodge was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital for injuries received in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
