God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Disaster Response team will deploy Thursday, May 9, from headquarters in Danville, Virginia, and travel to Cleveland, Texas, and the surrounding areas to help victims of deadly flooding that has impacted over 10,000 homes and prompted hundreds of water rescues.

God’s Pit Crew semi-trucks and haulers equipped with dehumidifiers, generators, and other equipment to assist with cleanup efforts will be on hand to remove mud, wet carpet and furniture, and wet drywall from homes – and will also assist with drying efforts and mold remediation.  The ministry also has pallets of Blessing Buckets staged near the affected areas that will be distributed to aid flood victims affected by the torrential rainfall totals.  Blessing Buckets are five-gallon buckets containing non-perishable food, water, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement.

The God’s Pit Crew Immediate Disaster Response Team will be assisting the area beginning Thursday, May 9, with plans to remain through Wednesday, May 29.  Individuals in need of assistance are asked to email ImmediateResponse@GodsPitCrew.org with their name, phone number, address, and a brief description of the scope of work that is needed.  Volunteers will be working to muck out homes, assist with drying efforts and mold remediation, and pray with families.

God’s Pit Crew Chief Operating Officer Brandon Nuckles spoke of the scene saying, “The traumatic details shared with us from our ministry partners in the area are of severe loss.  We continue to pray for all impacted and are ready to begin working to assist victims of this devastating event.”

Nuckles explains that response by the God’s Pit Crew ministry would not be possible without the continuous support provided by volunteers and donors.

“Everyone who volunteers and donates to our relief responses helps move our mission of providing hope and healing forward,” said Nuckles.  “The people we’re headed to serve are really hurting, but it’s your generosity that gives them hope that they can keep going.”
