Community Screening Chocolate Milk: The Documentary

Celebrate Maternal Health Awareness Day with a free community event. Chocolate Milk: The Documentary on Thursday, January 16, at The Prizery in South Boston, VA, from 6–9 p.m. This impactful event aims to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding in Black and Brown communities while connecting families to vital, life-changing resources.

About the Documentary:
Chocolate Milk: The Documentary Series is a compelling collection of over 40 testimonials from mothers and health providers, created by native Virginian filmmaker and public health advocate Elizabeth Gray Bayne. Through personal stories, the series shines a light on the challenges and triumphs of breastfeeding, focusing on normalizing breastfeeding within the African American community. By showcasing the health benefits of breast milk, it seeks to inspire Black mothers to consider breastfeeding, while educating partners, families, and communities that influence a mother’s ability to sustain exclusive breastfeeding
